Reason and Prerequisites

SAP HANA Dynamic Tiering enables you to optimize the main memory resource management in SAP HANA, by using extended tables to keep warm data (infrequently used data) on-disk.

Solution

Sizing of HANA DT:
The recommended ratios of HANA memory to DT storage are below:

• For HANA memory < 512GB: size of DT storage should not exceed 4x the size of HANA memory.
• For HANA memory >=512GB: size of DT storage should not exceed 8x the size of HANA memory.
