2163116 - MDUG Template Issue for languages other then English

Symptom

MDUG Template doesn't work in French language
Example: Go To 'Central Process' [FR: 'Processus central'] tab in the French template and maintain the 'Name' [FR: 'Nom'] and 'Description' [FR: 'Description'] fields. Now navigate to the Central Subprocess [FR: ‘Sous-processus central’] tab the expected auto populated value of the 'Central Process' is not displayed in the drop down of the Parent Column.

Environment
GRC 10.0, GRC10.1

Reproducing the Issue
1. Now login in R/3 in French Language and open tcode SE38 > Execute Program GRFN_MDUG.
2. Generate the Template Excel in French language by clicking on execute button or by pressing F8 key.
3. MDUG Template will be downloaded in a few minutes. Once downloaded completely, open the template.
4. Navigate to the Processus central [Central subprocess] tab in the French sheet/template and maintain the description and name [FR: 'Nom'] field.
5. Now go to tab ‘Sous-processus central’ and you can see that the expected value of Processes maintain in the 'central Process' tab doesn't appears in the drop down in the parent column.

Cause
In French language the sheet name is crossing the limit of 30 characters of MS Excel. As there is a limitation from MS Excel in which you cannot name any sheet more than 30 characters.
Technically speaking while creating the template, excel sheet is not holding more than 30 character (as per excel limitation) and some of the validation micros are getting overwritten.

Resolution
1. You can use maintenance view 'GRFNVENTITY' to minimize the character length: REG_GROUP, REGULATION, REG_REQ, ORGUNIT, CRGROUP, CRISK, COBJECTIVE, ACC_GROUP, TESTPLAN,
XPROCESS, XSUBPROCESS, XCONTROL, XECGROUP, XECONTROL, POLICYGRP, POLICY.
2. Additional Info: Some of the field names in the excel sheet are being fetched from the view 'GRFNFLDGRPT' and these fields are SP_REGULATIONS, CN_REGULATIONS, EC_REGULATIONS.
3. Above entities which are being used in the MDUG sheet name. All of them should not have character more than 30. As it is the limitation from MS Excel.
4. As you can verify that "SP_REGULATIONS" =  "Reglementations du sous-processus". [>30 characters].
5. Please note that MDUG Template has been supplied by sap. However, for using the MDUG tool correctly you have to short the field less than 30.
6. So whenever the report is trying to name any sheet more than 30 characters it will not work. Please check all the fields in the corresponding view and shorten them to less than 30 Characters.
7. Kindly refer to the attached document for more details.

1549631 - Canada Address Input as French but address outputs in English - Data Services

Symptom
  • Address contains French on Input but outputs in English.
  • Colombie-Britannique becomes British Columbia.
  • Output Language is set to French or Preserve.

Reproducing the Issue
Process a Canada Address containing “Colombie-Britannique” for region with the Global Address Cleanse option Output Language set to French or Preserve.  The output will convert to English translation of British Columbia.

Cause
The Canadian address cleansing engine does very minimal translation to output addresses in French as it depends on the Canada Address Directories to provide the proper translation. The Directories curently only provide limited support for Quebec City.

Resolution
This is working as intended as defined by the Canada Post.  The postal directories define the English as the correct output language and do not provide the French as an option.

1811377 - Enabling French Canadian for HTTP requests

Symptom
When you indicate FR-CA in the header of your HTTP request for accept-language header field, it will convert to regular French in SAP system.

Other Terms
3F, FR, CA, French Canadian

Reason and Prerequisites
Due to a programming error, only the first part of a dash separated language is kept. Because in order to map French Canadian to the 1-character-long sy-langu system variable, we need to have a 2 character code, which is 3F for French Canadian. So we should identify this, before we split the language value.

Solution
Apply the attached correction instructions or the corresponding support package.

84070 - French texts for Business Navigator missing

Symptom
In the Business Navigator, when you log on with language 'F' (French) in component view 3.1 (Transaction SB10), processes are only displayed in English. In the process flow view 3.1 (Transaction SB09) only the first hierarchy level (enterprise process area) is in English.

Other Terms

Reason and Prerequisites
There is an error in language transport, tables were locked for delivery in French.

Solution
Import the files in directory sapservX/general/R3server/language/Note.84070 where sapservX stands for the corresponding sapserv host in your region. (see Note 13719)
After that you can display the reference model 3.1 also in French. However this is not possible for reference model 3.0. When you call the Transactions SB01 and SB02 and then select 'Tools' - 'Business Navigator' in the main menu, information on the two model versions are displayed. You then need to choose a model version. From Transaction HIER as well as from Transaction SRPO, reference model 3.0 is always displayed.

  3. Preparing the IRMGLB & IRMEPM 60C language installation
  4. Executing the IRMGLB & IRMEPM 60C language installation
  5. Problems importing the language packages

1. Change history

Date Topic Short description

2. Prerequisites for installing IRMGLB and IRMEPM 60C language package

You should have Vistex Add-ons IRMGLB 60C and IRMEPM 60C installed on your SAP ERP System with support package level at either SP1 or SP2.

Note, if you have already installed the language packages for component IRMIPM (Incentives & Paybacks, or IP Module), then you can skip installing the IRMGLB component's language packages as they should already be installed in your system.

3. Preparing the IRMGLB & IRMEPM 60C language installation

3.1. Download the required Language packages

Language packages names are:
SAPKLDE60C0IRMGLB.SAR  Vistex German Language pkg for IRMGLB 60C
SAPKLDE60C0IRMEPM.SAR  Vistex German Language pkg for IRMEPM 60C

SAPKLFR60C0IRMGLB.SAR  Vistex French Language pkg for IRMGLB60C

SAPKLPT60C0IRMGLB.SAR  Vistex Portuguese Lang pkg for IRMGLB60C
SAPKLPT60C0IRMEPM.SAR  Vistex Portuguese Lang pkg for IRMEPM60C

You are required to import both Vistex Add-ons (IRMGLB and IRMEPM) Language packages for each language.

For example, if you want FRENCH language support; you have to
    import   the following two packages:
SAPKLFR60C0IRMGLB.SAR Vistex French Language pkg for IRMGLB60C
SAPKLFR60C0IRMEPM.SAR Vistex French Language pkg for IRMEPM60C

3.2 Copy the downloaded Vistex language packages to transport
      directory <DIR_TRANS >  (Usually /usr/sap/trans/)

The <DIR_TRANS > directory can be displayed after you execute the
RSPFPAR report with input value DIR_TRANS.

3.3 Unpack the Language Packages' SAR files
        -Log on as user
         <sid>adm  on UNIX
         <SID>OFR  on AS/400
         <SID>adm  on Windows
-Switch to the < DIR_TRANS > directory of your R/3 system
        -Switch to the higher-level <DIR_TRANS>directory.
Unpack the language SAR archive files using the following
        command
SAPCAR -xvf  <Language Package Name>   on UNIX
          SAPCAR -xvf  <Language Package Name>    on AS/400
SAPCAR -xvf <Language Package Name>     on Windows
The unpacked language package files will be extracted to the EPS/in     directory of your transport directory (usually
   /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in)

4. Executing the IRMGLB & IRMEPM 60C language installation

4.1. You can use transaction SMLT to import extra language packages.

4.2. Go to the language for which you want to install extra packages
and choose Language  ' Import Package.

4.3. In the next dialog box, enter the path (i.e. the EPS/in
directory of your Transport directory, usually
/usr/sap/trans/EPS/in) for the language packages. Choose Find
Package(s) to search for available Vistex Language packages in
the path you have entered. Alternatively, you can search for
packages locally by choosing Load from Front End.

4.4. The green, yellow and red lights next to the packages indicate
whether you can import them. Click the lights to display extra          information. A green light indicates that all import conditions
have been met; a yellow light indicates that there are warnings,
and a red light indicates that the package cannot be imported
       because checks have detected errors.

4.5. Select one or more language packages with green or yellow lights
       for import.

4.6. After you have specified a start time and (optional) target
server, choose Execute to import the language package(s) you
       have selected.

The language transport is performed in three steps:
        a.  The language package is unpacked in a background job, after
which the background job is ended.
        b.  The import tools R3trans and tp import the language data
            into the system.
        c.  Any required follow-up activities are performed in a new
            background job.

All activities are logged in the action log.

4.7. An import action is created for the appropriate language on the
overview screen of transaction SMLT.  Monitor the language(s)
import(s) and check the action log when imports are finished.

4.8. If language import terminates for any technical reasons, you can
       restart it.

Note: As described above, you can import multiple languages in
parallel. Depending on the performance of your SAP system, a parallel
import of multiple languages can place a heavier load than a
  sequential import.

Please refer SAP online help on Language import for additional
  information.

5. Problems importing the language packages

You may receive import/activation errors with either package.  The
may happen because the packages contain more translated objects than
what is contained in your system.  These errors can be safely
  ignored.
