1396138 - Language Packs are not completely uninstalled in BusinessObjects Enterprise XI3.x

Symptom
  • Unable to completely remove Language Packs from BusinessObjects Enterprise(BOE)
  • Uninstalled Language Packs still appear in the Software Inventory Tool
  • Product Locale values in Infoview Preferences still show uninstalled languages


Reproducing the Issue
  1. Install any Language Pack on BOE, for example French
  2. Log into Infoview and navigate to Preferences -> General -> Product Locale
->  There are 2 language options: English and French.
     3. Uninstall the French Language Pack
     4. Start the Software Inventory Tool:
->  Note that the French Language Pack is still there
     5. Check on Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
->  Note that the Language Pack is no longer in the list of installed software
    6. Check language options under Infoview Preferences, as in step 2:
->  There are still 2 language options: English and French
  • BusinessObjects Enterprise XI3.x


Cause
  • This was raised as an investigation with tracking number ADAPT01312947, but it was found to be normal behaviour. 
  • The language packs will only be completely removed after manually re-deploying the webapps.


Resolution
  • Redeploy the webapps.
