Symptom
- Unable to completely remove Language Packs from BusinessObjects Enterprise(BOE)
- Uninstalled Language Packs still appear in the Software Inventory Tool
- Product Locale values in Infoview Preferences still show uninstalled languages
Reproducing the Issue
- Install any Language Pack on BOE, for example French
- Log into Infoview and navigate to Preferences -> General -> Product Locale
-> There are 2 language options: English and French.3. Uninstall the French Language Pack
4. Start the Software Inventory Tool:
-> Note that the French Language Pack is still there5. Check on Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs
-> Note that the Language Pack is no longer in the list of installed software6. Check language options under Infoview Preferences, as in step 2:
-> There are still 2 language options: English and French
- BusinessObjects Enterprise XI3.x
Cause
- This was raised as an investigation with tracking number ADAPT01312947, but it was found to be normal behaviour.
- The language packs will only be completely removed after manually re-deploying the webapps.
Resolution
- Redeploy the webapps.
