1719545 - Error "Could not find the main class. Program will exit “ when trying to add the French language pack for SP5.

Symptom

• Cannot add the Frensh language pack for Business Objects Enterprise XI3.1 SP5.
• Message error occurs during the installation of the FR language pack for SP5. : "Could not find the main class. Program will exit .“
• Then another error message appears : "Cannot connect to CMS. please check the CMS host name and port, and try again."

Environment

SAP Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 SP5.

Reproducing the Issue

1. Prepare an existing BOE XI 3.1 SP5 server.
2. Locate the XI 3.1 SP5 installation software.
3. From that directory, go to package/langs/<language you want to install> and start setup.exe from there.
4. After input CMS hostname, port and Administrator's password, the error occurs.

Resolution

1. Navigate to the Control Panel.
2. Go to Add/Remove Programs.
3. Install SP5 with REPAIR option , the Language Pack will get installed.
