1810952 - SAP HANA LCAPPS 1.00: Release and update information

Symptom

This SAP Note contains information about the release identifier and about the update of the SAP-HANA-integrated liveCache, that is to say, for an SAP HANA database with an installed liveCache component (LCAPPS plug-in). In an SAP SCM system, a database of this kind takes on the task of the SCM database and liveCache. The following names are also used for the SAP-HANA-integrated liveCache:

• SAP LCA (liveCache Applications) on HANA
• SAP HANA LCAPPS

An LCAPPS plug-in is delivered on SAP Service Marketplace. The plug-in is only ever suitable for a specific version of the SAP HANA database.

• The revision (Support Package) of the SAP HANA database and of the LCAPPS plug-in must always be the same.
• The patch level of the SAP HANA database specified in the LCAPPS plug-in (see the plug-in information file on SAP Service Marketplace) must match the patch level of the installed SAP HANA database.

Reason and Prerequisites

You use SAP Enhancement Package 2 for SAP SCM 7.0, the version for SAP HANA (EHP2 FOR SAP SCM 7.0 on HANA), or higher. You use the SAP-HANA-integrated liveCache (an SAP HANA database with an installed liveCache component/LCAPPS plug-in).

Solution

To update the LCAPPS plug-in (of the component SAP HANA LCAPPS), proceed as described in the SAP HANA Server Installation and Update Guide. This is available on the SAP Help Portal:

Following the successful installation of the LCAPPS plug-in, the database is in online mode. A liveCache restart is not required. To check the installation, execute transaction LCA03 in a liveCache-relevant client. If errors are found in the liveCache configuration (red traffic lights), the program stops and provides help with the rectification of these errors. Repeat this procedure until the system no longer reports any configuration errors.
