Symptom
- Failed with the following error when creating OLAP connection to SAP HANA MDC ( Multitenant Database Containers) in IDT
ErrorCode: -813
Message: SAP DBTech JDBC: Cannot connect to jdbc:sap://<HOSTNAME>:3**15 [Cannot connect to host <HOSTNAME>:3**15 [Connection refused: connect], -813.] - When creating HANA OLAP connection in CMC to SAP HANA MDC, it is giving error "Failed to get connections for connection [<HOSTNAME>] using session locale [English]"
Environment
- SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.1
- Information Design Tool (IDT)
- SAP HANA MDC
Reproducing the Issue
- Launch IDT and create a new OLAP Connection.
- Select SAP Hana Client driver.
- Enter Hostname, Instance Number, User Name, Password in Parameters for SAP HANA window to SAP HANA MDC, whose port is not 3**15(i.e., 3**41)
- Click Next button.
=>Connection fails with error message "SAP DBTech JDBC: Cannot connect to jdbc:sap://<HOSTNAME>:3**15 [Cannot connect to host <HOSTNAME>:3**15 [Connection refused: connect], -813.]".
Resolution
Enter "<HANA server>:3**41;"(** is instance number of SAP HANA; 3**41 is the port of SAP HANA MDC) into Hostname field.
