1858965 - Error :"(X) Unexpected Behavior" when trying to select oracle client in Information Design Tool

Symptom

Error : "(X) Unexpected behavior" when trying to choose Oracle Client driver for Oracle 11g under Database middleware driver selection in Information Design Tool (IDT)

Environment

• SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.0 SP5 Patch 5
• Oracle 11g R2

Reproducing the Issue

1. Open Information Design Tool
2. Create new relational connection
3. In Database middleware driver selection, choose Oracle 11g->Oracle client, error : "(X) Unexpected Behavior" is seen

Cause

• InstantClient for Oracle 11g was installed on the client machine
• Folder location "C:\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\client" not present

Resolution

1. While installing Oracle Client Tools, it shows 4 options :
1. InstantClient
2. Administrator
3. Runtime Client
4. Custom

     From these, install "Administrator" client tool for oracle 11g. After installing, check that folder structure is available as : "C:\app\oracle\product\11.2.0\client"
