2166488 - Technical names of HANA Attribute Views are too long for ODP framework

Symptom

In SAP BW system, only HANA Attribute Views (up to 25 characters) can be seen in a package.  Some have more than 25 character technical name and some have technical name which is combination of package name and view name.

• SAP enhancement package 2 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0
• SAP enhancement package 3 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0
• HANA Database (any revision)

Reproducing the Issue

HANA Attribute Views with more than 25 characters of technical names.

Cause

The ODP framework supports technical names up to 25 characters. But in HANA modeler the view name is not unique. So the ODP name is concatenated from the package name and the view name. If the name is too long the ODP framework takes a 25-character hash code instead of the readable view name.

Resolution

Maintain a meaningful description for the HANA Attribute Views in HANA modeler. As workaround, it is possible to start ABAP program RODPS_BASE_ODP_DIS with context "HANA Information Views". The original view name can be found in column Object Type and the package in column Software Component.
