1938067 - BI 4.0 Error "DBDriver failed to init : java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: PATH"

Symptom

Unable to test the connection in the BI 4.0 SP5.13 IDT. It is a JDBC connection to HANA. The following error occurs:

DBDriver failed to init : java.lang.NoSuchFieldError: PATH

Environment

• SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence 4.0 Support Pack 5 Patch 13
• SAP HANA

Reproducing the Issue

1. In the Information Design Tool (IDT), create a relational JDBC connection to HANA.
2. When the connection is tested, the error happens.

Cause

This error indicates that there are mixed versions of jars. Specifically, one of the jars expects a particular object to have a member named "PATH", but the jar that contains the definition of that object does not show it as having that member.

Resolution

Uninstall and re-install the correct HANA JDBC drivers.
