2201640 - The definition of Technical System '~HANADB' is not correct: '~HANADB': Technical System must be installed on at least one Host.

Symptom

This issue can present two different symptoms.
1) When checking the section "Check Prerequisites" in the managed system configuration for the technical system, the following errors are visible:

The definition of Technical System '<SID>~ABAP' is not correct: '<SID>~ABAP': Database 'BDH' must have at least one Host.

'<SID>~ABAP': Database '<SID>' must have at least one Host.

2) When checking the section "Check Prerequisites" in the managed system configuration for the HANA DB, the following errors are visible:

The definition of Technical System '<SID>~HANADB' is not correct: '<SID>~HANADB': Technical System must be installed on at least one Host.

The definition of Technical System '<SID>~HANADB' is not correct: '<SID>~HANADB': Database 'BDH' must have at least one Host.

The definition of Technical System '<SID>~HANADB' is not correct: '<SID>~HANADB': No Software Component Version found.

The definition of Technical System '<SID>~HANADB' is not correct: '<SID>~HANADB': No Product Version found.

• SAP enhancement package for SAP Solution Manager

Reproducing the Issue

1. Acess the Managed System Configuration under section "Check Prerequisites" for a system using a HANA DB or for the HANA DB itself. The logs for this section will show the error mentioned here.
2. Access the SLD of Solution Manager under Administration -> Content Maintenance -> HANA Database System and find the HANA DB. Here, check how many associations are there. The HANA Database System must have more than just 2 associations. If there are just 2 associations, this indicate that this HANA system was incompletely reported.

Cause

This issue happens when the HANA DB is registered in SLD only by its system(using RZ70 for ABAP systems or NWA for JAVA systems). As a consequence, not all data related to the HANA DB is reported to the SLD.

Resolution

Perform the HANA DB registration in SLD as described under the section 'Register HANA in SLD' in the following wiki page:

Obs.: To ensure the registration was performed correctly, Access the SLD of Solution Manager under Administration -> Content Maintenance -> HANA Database System and find the HANA DB. The HANA Database System must have more than just 2 associations, otherwise, the registration was not done correctly.
