  • Failed to get connections for connection [http://hostsname:8000] using session locale [English]

Environment

  • HANA 1.0 SP09

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Enable SAP Hana http provider for BI Platform by following KBA 2182187.

Cause
  • This is a limitation for BI Platform BI 4.1 SP06 or lower version.
  • It cannot connect to this Connection in CMC because there is no DataProvider available to handle such Connections in MDAS service.

    JCoDestinationDataProvider setting jco.destination.pool_capacity property to 0 because it was not specified.
    <exception>
    com.sap.ip.bi.base.service.connection.impl.ConnectionException: No connection factory found for type session-2:http://hostname:8000:dev:en_US:HTTP:CREDENTIALS:null/HTTP.

Resolution
  • From BI 4.1 SP07 and BI 4.2, it is possible in BI platform to connect to HANA database with HTTP provider.
  • Analysis edition for OLAP is also able to consume these OLAP Connections, with same versions BI 4.1 SP07 and BI 4.2.
