Symptom

HANA package Security does not work when creating a HANA OLAP connection

Environment

SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence 4.0

Reproducing the Issue

1. Create a user in HANA
2. Assign Package Privileges to the user
3. Create an OLAP connection on HANA from CMC
4. Use the same credentials for the user created in HANA
5. Observe that the user can see all the packages
6. However, in HANA modeler the user can see only those packages on which he has access to

Resolution

This is by Design. HANA package privileges are only intended for the HANA modeler
