Issues Fixed in this Service Pack
IoT Workbench
  • The data model was refactored to increase stability
  • The IoT component interface for Workbench integration was updated
  • The interface of IoT components is validated for compliance with the currently installed Workbench version
  • The version upgrade of components can be triggered from the Workbench
  • SAP UI5 routing support: Individual pages of the Workbench can be directly accessed using a specific URL
  • For deployment of translated texts for delivery units, please refer to SAP Note 1805967
IoT Core - Device Configuration
  • The version upgrade of components is supported
  • Connectors from SP03 are supported
  • The adapter/component service was rewritten to fix some minor bugs
  • Security update: Analytic privilege was created to restrict user access to system views
IoT Connector
  • Connector Configuration
    • The iotconnector.sh start script provides additional services and parameters (-config) to configure the Connector without editing the configuration.xml manually. The user is guided through the configuration process in a step-by-step fashion. The user is also notified if the configuration is invalid.
    • The configure-connector.sh shell script has been removed from the scripts folder accordingly.
  • Watchdog
    • The Connector is started in watchdog mode by default. This means that the Connector is restarted automatically in case of a fatal error (e.g. a Java VM crash). This feature can be disabled using the -disableWatchDog parameter.
  • Connector Restart
    • The Connector can be restarted either from the command line or via the management TCP socket (port is specified in the iotconnector.ini).
  • Performance Monitoring
    • The Connector can be started in performance monitoring mode via the -perfmon parameter. If started with that option, the Connector will log system relevant performance measures (CPU, RAM…) as well as Connector internal measures.
  • Persistence Processor
    • Cached data is stored using GZIP.
  • CMIS File Transfer component
    • The new component is able to monitor a local folder and upload the files located/copied into that folder to a CMIS-compliant backend.
  • Minor improvements
    • The iotconnector.sh script and the shell scripts in the scripts folder are executable by default after installation from the ZIP archive.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Persistence Processor: In cases where the numberOfMsgInSendingQueue or msgResponseTimeoutInMilliseconds parameters were set to very small numbers, we have addressed a risk of potential data loss.
    • Logging
      • Stack traces are not printed to the command line if debug level is INFO or higher.
      • Changing the log level at runtime in the iotconnector.ini no longer leads to duplicate log messages.
IoT Messaging
  • CMIS File Transfer Messaging Component
    • The Messaging component receives the files from the IoT Connector and persists them to the documentation service repository via CMIS proxy bridge.
