Other Terms
HANA, IMDB, storage connector API, fibre channel client, scale out

Reason and Prerequisites
You have a HANA scale out system using the fibre channel client of the
HANA storage connector API. After the upgrade to revision 50 or later the system is not starting anymore.
If you are not sure if you are using the fibre channel client of the HANA storage connector API please contact your hardware partner.

Solution
For both of the issues make sure the following configuration is set correctly:
In the global.ini file under section [storage]:
ha_provider = hdb_ha.fcClient
In the Linux config file /etc/sudoers make sure the entry for the sidadm user is as follows on all nodes of the scale out system:
sidadm ALL=NOPASSWD: /sbin/multipath, /sbin/multipathd, /etc/init.d/multipathd, /usr/bin/sg_persist, /bin/mount, /bin/umount, /bin/kill, /usr/bin/lsof
Restart HANA DB after making these changes.

These changes are compatible with revisions below 50, so you can adjust these settings before starting the upgrade.
