Symptom
Lifecycle Management in SAP HANA Studio displays current system version SPS03 but the system version is SPS04.

Other Terms
SUM for SAP HANA; installation; update

Reason and Prerequisites
You have a newly installed SAP HANA SPS04 system.
Your SAP HANA database (HDB) is revision 28 or later.
Due to an error on the installation media, the system version is wrongly set to SPS03 while it is actually SPS04.

Solution
Edit this file on the HANA system
/usr/sap/<SID>/lm_structure/currentStack.properties
and change the following entries to the values given below

A) If your system is HANA Platform Edition
stackID = 67837800103300003782
stackCaption = 04 (05/2012)
stackReleaseDate = 2012-05-11

B) If your system is HANA Enterprise Edition
stackID = 67837800103300003784
stackCaption = 04 (05/2012)
stackReleaseDate = 2012-05-11

C) If your system is HANA Enterprise Extended Edition
stackID = 67837800103300003783
stackCaption = 04 (05/2012)
stackReleaseDate = 2012-05-11

Save the changes in the file and restart SUM for SAP HANA.

You can see your HANA system edition in the Lifecycle Management perspective in SAP HANA Studio or in this file
/usr/sap/UHA/lm_structure/landscapeDescription.xml
