2267498 - Field Reporting Properties from InfoProvider are missing

Symptom
In the HANA Studio based Query Designer no fileds in the query definition show any spceific reporting properties other than the corresponding InfoObject default values. This happens regardless of the settings for these fields in the underlying InfoProivder. For instance any changed values for "Display" or "Selection" of a characteristic in a CompositeProvider are not seen in the Query editor with a Query on this CompositeProvider. However, in the reporting preview, the correct values for these reporting properties are seen. If the reporting properties for a navigation attribute in the CompositeProvider arechanged in the CompositeProvider model, these values are neither seen in the Query editor nor thay are seen in the reproting preview for the edited query.

Other Terms
BWMT, ELEM, Query Designer

Reason and Prerequisites
The problem in the Query Designer editor occurs due to program errors in the InfoProvider back end resource and due to errors in the Editor (Eclipse) client.

Solution
  • SAP BW 7.40

Import Support Package 15 for SAP BW 7.40 (SAPKW74015) into your BW system. The Support Package will be available as soon as SAP Note 2252375 with the short text "Preliminary Version SAPBWNews NW BW 7.4 ABAP SP15", which describes this Support Package in more detail, is released for customers
  • SAP BW 7.50

Import Support Package 3 for SAP BW 7.50 (SAPK-75003INSAPBW) into your BW system. The Support Package will be available as soon as SAP Note 2258731 with the short text "Preliminary Version SAPBWNews NW BW 7.50 ABAP SP3", which describes this Support Package in more detail, is released for customers.

In urgent cases you can use the correction instructions.

Before you use the correction instructions, make sure that you check SAP Note 1668882 and SAP Note 2248091 for transaction SNOTE.

This SAP Note might already be available before the Support Package is released. In this case, however, the short text still contains the term "preliminary version".
Note that the code corrections provided by this note do not solve the problem without a corresponding BW Modeling Tools client upgrade. In order to get the problem solved you need a BW Modeling client of revision 1.13 or higher.  For BW Modeling clients of revision 1.12 or lower the only difference after this note is applied will be that the reporting preview would also properly reflect any changed reporting properties of CompositeProvider navigation attributes.
