Solution
The SAP HANA system landscape typically consists of several
components, i.e. SAP HANA DB, BOBJ frontends, replication and source
systems.
There are different options to allow remote access to these components:
I Connections all in one WTS
A single WTS connection (SAP Note 605795) can be used to access the customer system. In this case, the WTS needs to provide the relevant items from the following list:
1. BI Tools
1.1 Your front end tools: Advanced Analysis, Webi, Explorer etc.
1.2 Data services
2. SAP HANA-Studio
3. Putty/VNC: For an extended analysis, access at the operating system to the SAP HANA DB server might be required.
4. SAPGUI connection to SLT system, SAP source system and connected SAP Solution Manager.
II Seperate ccnnections for each system component
1. a) WTS connection for BI font end tools. SAP Note 605795
or alternatively
b) Netviewer connection for Windows based systems. SAP Note 1036616 Note: Netviewer requires an active acception of a connection request
2. WTS for data services. SAP Note 605795
3. SAP HANA-Studio connection. SAP Note 1592925
4. TREX/BIA connection SAP Note 1058533
5. R/3 and HTTP connection to SLT. SAP Notes 31515 & 812732, 592085
6. R/3 connection to SAP source system. SAP Notes 31515 & 812732
7. VNC/ssh connection to SAP HANA DB server. SAP Notes 1275351 & 1327257
8. SAPGUI and HTTP connection to Solution Manager. SAP Note 962516
The following individual connections are usually required for the analysis of the issues mentioned below:
- Front-end related issues, connection types II.1 and II.3
- Data provision issues in data services, connection types II.2 and II.3
- Data provision issues in SLT, connection type II.3 and II.5, II.6
- Modeling issues or SAP HANA DB issues, connection type II.3. But in case of the complicated issues, connection type II.4 is also needed.
