SAP HANA rules framework (HRF) is a set of tools and services that empowers application developers to easily embed decision management into solutions and processes, and empowers business users to define and manage decisions in dynamic scenarios.

Important notes for fresh-installation customers:

• Before executing the provided post-installation configuration script as described in "Configuring SAP HANA Rules Framework" in the SAP HANA Rules Framework - Installation and Upgrade Guide, you must first manually enable the HRF runtime plug-in. For instructions, see "Appendix: Enabling the Runtime Plug-In of SAP HANA Rules Framework" in the SAP HANA Rules Framework - Installation and Upgrade Guide.

Important notes for upgrade customers:

• You must now use the hdbalm command line tool to deploy the SAP HRF software component. For more information, see "Deploying the SAP HANA Rules Framework Software Component" in the SAP HANA Rules Framework - Installation and Upgrade Guide.
• As of this release, the "generated_HrfResourceCreator" is no longer needed.
• As of SAP HRF 1.0 SP05, the namespace of the UI library has changed from "hrf.controls" to "sap.hrf.ui.uilib". For more information, see "Embedding the Rule Builder UI Control" in the SAP HANA Rules Framework - Development and Implementation Guide.
• If you made custom changes directly in the .xsaccess file prior to the upgrade, you need to reconfigure those changes, since the .xsaccess file is overwritten whenever the delivery unit of SAP HANA rules framework is redeployed.

New Features in the SAP HRF 1.0 SPS 06 Release:
These are the main highlights of this release:

• Vocabulary and Rule Expression Language

Support for advanced functions in the HRF rule expression language has been added. Once declared in the vocabulary, the advanced function(s) is available as a part of the auto-complete suggestions, when relevant. The signature of each function and expected parameter follow SAP HANA guidelines. As part of this enhancement, we have currently implemented the following mathematical functions in SAP HRF:

• round
• power
• sin
• cos

• Developer Tools

Instead of the default SAP_HRF schema, application developer are now able to specify a custom database runtime schema where SAP HRF stores generated runtime artifacts, such as stored procedures, views, and table types.

SP06 Patch Level 1 Corrections:

• [FIXED] Post-installation/upgrade configuration script fails if runtime plug-in is not enabled.
• [FIXED] Exception error thrown upon rule activation.
• [FIXED] UI library not loading as a result of a naming issue.

SP06 Patch Level 2 Corrections:

• [FIXED] SAP HANA rules framework modeling tools does not run after an upgrade to SAP HANA SPS 11.
  NOTE: A manual workaround is needed for a known issue when saving new extended vocabularies and loading new rules with embedded vocabularies. For details, see SAP Note 2253882.
  IMPORTANT: As of SAP HRF 1.0 SPS 06 Patch Level 2, customers using the SAP HRF modeling tools must upgrade to SAP HANA SPS 11 (SAP HANA SPS 10 not supported).
  
• [FIXED] After canceling the operation of adding columns to a decision table, the user is still able to activate or save an empty rule, which results in an unclear technical error.
