Symptom
After the restart of SAP HANA, in the Search Customization window, you cannot rename newly added categories if there was no new categories added before the restart.
Reproducing the issue
Prerequisites:
You have restarted SAP HANA, and before the restart, you haven't added any new category in the Search Customization window.
Scenario:
For enterprise search, you want to customize searchable business objects by renaming the newly added categories in the Search Customization window.
You have performed the following:
The name of the newly added category changes color and you can enter a new name.
Actual behavior:
There is no change on the name of the newly added category and you cannot enter a new name.
You have restarted SAP HANA, and before the restart, you haven't added any new category in the Search Customization window.
Scenario:
For enterprise search, you want to customize searchable business objects by renaming the newly added categories in the Search Customization window.
You have performed the following:
- Beside the enterprise search box, chose the black triangle.
- On the settings tab, chose Search Customization.
- In the Search Customization window, right-clicked on a newly added category, and chose Rename.
The name of the newly added category changes color and you can enter a new name.
Actual behavior:
There is no change on the name of the newly added category and you cannot enter a new name.
Cause
When you restart SAP HANA, FOLDER_ID_SEQ.nextval is reset to 12.
Solution
SAP intends to provide a patch or patches in order to solve the problem described. The section References below will list the specific patches once they become available. The corresponding Info file of the patches in SAP Service Marketplace will also show the SAP Note number. Be aware that these references can only be set at patch release date. SAP will deliver patches only for selected releases at its own discretion, based on the business impact and the complexity of the implementation.
Workaround:
There are two workarounds listed as follows:
- In the Admin Console, reinitialize the company database.
- In the SAP HANA studio, use the following SQL statement to reset the sequence: ALTER SEQUENCE FOLDER_ID_SEQ RESTART WITH 100;
