Solution
Solution Highlights
SAP HANA rules framework (HRF) is a native decision management framework for SAP HANA, which enables developers to easily add intelligent real-time decision making to SAP HANA applications and empowers business users to define and manage decisions in dynamic scenarios.
The main focus of SAP HRF 1.0 SP04 is on quality and performance improvements. Both the design time and runtime performance has been improved. The main feature added was the addition of explicit binding of rules to rule services. This is an addition to the existing runtime binding which is based on rule tagging (rule groups).
Minimal Revisions Requirements of SAP HANA for SAP HRF:
  • SAP HRF 1.0 SP04 without SAP HRF modeling tools: SAP HANA SP08 rev. 81 or SAP HANA SP09 rev. 94
  • SAP HRF 1.0 SP04 with SAP HRF modeling tools: SAP HANA SP09 rev. 94

New Features in the SAP HRF 1.0 SPS 04 Release:
  • Business Expert UI Performance:
    • The UI is much more responsive due to restructuring and improved design of the UI
  • Development Experience:
    • Application developers or implementers can manually assign specific rules to a rule service, which will be evaluated when the rule service triggers a determination process. The assignment to the rule service is defined within the rule itself.
    • The Vocabulary editor supports the rendering of composite associations in the details panel.
SP04 Patch Level 1 Corrections:
  • [Fixed] Users are unable to rename an association name in a vocabulary.
  • [Fixed] SAP predelivered vocabulary cannot be extended in SAP HANA rules framework modeling tools.
As a result of the fix, the modeling tools now support the extension or referencing of an SAP-delivered application vocabulary.
  • [Fixed] Online-based services with circular referenced data objects (A -> B -> A) resulted in a syntax error.
  • [Fixed] Rules with private alias cannot be saved and activated.
SP04 Patch Level 2 Corrections:
  • [FIXED] Users are unable to model an association between data objects from extended vocabulary and a reference vocabulary.
  • [FIXED] Users received an incorrect error message when adding a parameter in the Add Output screen.
  • [FIXED] When SAP HRF repository  plug-in is enabled, a redundant Generate action is needed following the activation of vocabularies and rules in the SAP HRF modeling tools. As a result of this fix, running the Generate action is no longer necessary when activating the runtime artifacts of rules and vocabularies in the modeling tools.
  • [FIXED] Failed activation when importing a deployment unit of SAP HRF and HANA-related artifacts.
  • [FIXED] Users are able to delete a vocabulary that is dependent on another vocabulary -- dependency validation is incomplete.
SP04 Patch Level 3-6 Corrections:
  • [FIXED] Users on SAP HANA XS apps are unable to connect via redirect functionality to the SAP HRF web application and/or embedded Rule Builder UI control.
