- Customers running SAP HANA in a non-production environment or with a planned Go-live date more than 6 weeks in advance, may adopt new SAP HANA Support Package Stacks at any time of their personal choosing, depending on their individual requirements and demands. SAP further proposes the implementation of the highest SAP HANA Revisions available on SAP Service Marketplace in case of any SW related issues to benefit from incremental, but non-disruptive improvements, provided by the latest SAP HANA Revisions.
- To customers running SAP HANA in production environments or with a planned Go-live of less than 6 weeks, SAP recommends to stay on the current Support Package Stack until the next SAP HANA Datacenter Service Point is reached. SAP therefore provides SAP HANA Maintenance Revisions, which allow to stay on an older SPS for up to three months longer. These Maintenance Revision contain only a subset of available fixes, identified to be relevant in particular for production environments. Once the SAP HANA Datacenter Service Point is reached, SAP strongly recommends to update their system to the referenced, or any newer SAP HANA Revision of the same SPS. Note, that with respect to SAP HANA Platform downward compatibility earlier Revisions may be gradually removed for SAP Service Marketplace.
