2097848 - HANA Studio Installation Failure

Symptom

Installation of HANA Studio is failing with error " Existing Directory 'C:\Program Files\sap\hdbstudio' is not empty "

Environment

HANA 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

After running 'hdbsetup.exe' a previous installation was stopped.
By running 'hdbsetup.exe' again and choosing the same directory to install a new SAP HANA Studio the error message appears.

Cause

The previously failed installation has partially created subdirectories within 'C:\Program Files\sap\hdbstudio'. HANA Studio will not overwrite it when "Install New SAP HANA Studio" option is selected.

Resolution

Check whether the directory contains any previous versions of HANA Studio.  If none exist, it is safe to delete the 'hdbstudio' directory and subdirectories and retry the installation.  If a previous version of HANA Studio exists within this directory, it is best to do either of the following:

1. Choose a new directory for the installation. eg. C:\Program Files\sap\hdbstudio90. 
2. Choose to Update SAP HANA Studio.

Note: Ensure no special characters exist in the pathname when choosing either option. eg. #*,
