1815405 - SAP HANA installation is missing the Software Update Manager (SUM) files and directory

Symptom

After installing HANA the SUM directory (/usr/sap/<SID>/SUM) is not present.

Environment

• HANA 1.00 SP4
• HANA 1.00 SP5

Reproducing the Issue

1. Run just the SAP HANA Server installer
2. Complete the installation

Cause

The database server installer does not include SUM.

Resolution

SUM for HANA is installed automatically when installing via the unified installer.
If you cannot run the unified installer you can download the SUM.sar file from the Service Market Place.

1. Login to the Service Market Place (service.sap.com)
2. Click on Software Downloads
3. Click on Support Packages and Patches
4. Under the A-Z Index select H
5. Click SAP HANA Platform Edition
6. Click on SAP HANA Platform Edit. 1.0
7. Click on SAP HANA related SL tools
8. Download 'SUM FOR SAP HANA 1.0'
