Symptom

CR4Ent gives error "I/O error during read:" connecting to HANA via ODBC Managed Relational Connection

Environment

• SAP Crystal Reports for Enterprise 4.0
• SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.0
• SAP HANA

Reproducing the Issue

1. Launch Crystal Reports for Enterprise
2. Click From Data Source
3. Click Browse Repository ...
4. Log on
5. Choose Data Source Type: Relational Connection
6. Choose ODBC-based relational connection
7. Click Next
8. Notice Error Message
9. On the same machine the same connection can be used via a Universe (UNX)

Cause

Statistics table on the HANA server has filled up drive space

Resolution

Truncate the HANA statistics table and provide additional disk space
